Flexible Transformer Manufacturing for Evolving Power Infrastructure
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA)’s Electricity 2026 report, global electricity demand is forecast to grow at an average annual rate of 3.6% from 2026 to 2030, driven by rising electricity consumption across industry, transport, buildings and data centres. The continued growth in electricity demand is increasing the need for grid expansion, system flexibility and modernised power infrastructure.
Against this backdrop, transformer manufacturing is evolving to meet increasingly diverse requirements across power distribution, renewable energy integration and energy storage applications.

► Flexible Manufacturing for Diverse Requirements
At COMKING Group’s Ganzhou Manufacturing Facility in Jiangxi Province, automated and digitalised production technologies support transformer manufacturing for applications across 10–35 kV systems.
The facility manufactures a range of transformer products, including single- and three-phase pad-mounted transformers, oil-immersed and dry-type distribution transformers, and single- and three-phase pole-mounted distribution transformers.
Its flexible production model supports both small-batch customised orders and high-volume manufacturing, enabling efficient response to different project requirements, product configurations and delivery schedules.
► Integrated Manufacturing and Quality Control
From winding and transformer core production to final assembly and testing, key manufacturing processes are supported by automated and digitally controlled production lines. The facility also operates dedicated testing facilities, including a partial discharge laboratory, with each transformer undergoing defined routine and quality tests before factory release.
For renewable energy and energy storage applications, transformer performance requirements can extend beyond conventional power distribution, including considerations such as low losses, thermal performance and application-specific protection requirements.
By combining flexible manufacturing, process control and rigorous testing, COMKING continues to strengthen transformer manufacturing capabilities and support the evolving requirements of power distribution and modern energy infrastructure.
